Call for papers

The Russian Journal of Cognitive Science is a new peer-reviewed, open-access electronic journal devoted to the study of cognition and the publishing of relevant papers in English or in Russian.

All articles are published under a Creative Commons license, ensuring that authors retain their copyright but at the same time allowing free distribution of the papers. There is no publication fee for authors.

The journal aims to inspire communication between researchers from different scientific disciplines who share an interest in the study of cognition, and provides an outlet for Russian cognitive scientists to publish their results in English, which is broadly accepted as a language of international communication.

Russian-speaking authors who feel that they are ready write a paper in English are hereby provided an option for a guided start in cooperation with Russian reviewers and editors.

The journal publishes original empirical research and review articles covering a wide range of topics in cognitive science — the constellation of scientific disciplines that involve study of mechanisms underlying cognition, which may be defined as the acquisition, maintenance, transformation and usage of knowledge by living and artificial systems.

Besides basic research articles, the journal publishes papers devoted to the applications of cognitive science in various fields of science and technology, including artificial intelligence, educational technologies, usability and cognitive design, human-computer interfaces and brain-computer interfaces. The editors also consider research in related scientific areas, such as cognitive approaches to emotions, motivation and personality, as well as social neuroscience.
